Initial Findings:

To start an audit on any potential client, I run a series of reports to better understand how the internet (more importantly- Google) sees their company. With you guys being a brand new company, I expected this exposure to be quite limited (and it was). WIth that said- this report also stands as a great way to show you the many directories that Google considers "information hubs" and whose verification would certainly help your exposure to the search engines. Social Media:

It looks like your sole social media presence is on Facebook. With your Facebook page, you do have a great start for a following. I see you have 611 people who Like the page, and you've already recevied 2 recommendations. The video from August 26th has received 8.5K views, 54 comments, and 45 shares. That is AWESOME. This type of video is a gold mine, and these efforts should happen at least once a month. It's the most cost effective marketing a business can do (in my opinion). 

These online efforts need to go across multiple social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram for Business) for maximum exposure and impact. In order to reduce redundancy- it's important to use a third party tool so that you're not trying to interact on posts that are hosted on multiple different places. Online Ratings and Reviews:

Online ratings and reviews are more important than ever for two core reasons:

  1. THEY ARE NOW A RANKING INDICATOR! This means that Google considers the average rating and number of ratings when considering where to place you in search results. They want to recommend a business that the search user will like, thus they consider ratings in the results.
  2. It gets you chosen in the 3 pack because consumers trust them. A lot... See the video below for more information (the first few minutes are the most important for this discussion).

Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

First, there are a few different parts of the SERP (Search Engine Results Page) of which you should be aware. The first is the paid ads, outlined in purple below. The next is the Local Results, outlined in green below. The last is the Organic Results, outlined in Yellow below. I've also included the percent of clicks that each area traditionally receives from any given search. Note that in the insurance world, the Paid Ads are generally highly expensive- so it's an area that I would recommend avoiding in the beginning.

SEO Return On Investment:

In a conversation with Caleb, he indicated that the average lifespan of a client would be 8-10 years, and that the Lifetime Value (LTV) of that client would be around $8,000. With that in mind, let's assume that 100 people search for "Home/Auto/Commercial Insurance" each month. 52% of them are going through the LOCAL results. That means that the three businesses that are in that magical "3 Pack" are splitting up $416,000 in potential business each month. Of course not everyone search would become a customer, but if I had the option to start out in a pool of $400K+ of inbound calls each month- I'd certainly appreciate that opportunity. In short, if businesses aren't investing in Search Engine Optimization, they are missing the boat.
